1998
SWEDTRAC was established 1 June 1998. Initially, the company carried
out non-destructive testing of Rc engines and X2000 rail vehicles
belonging to the Swedish National Railway Company. At that time,
SWEDTRAC was the only external maintenance company allowed to
service the National Railway Company's vehicles.
The business expanded into the area of staffing, providing manpower
for other operators/manufacturers in the railway industry. Staffing
is now an important part of the business.

2000
On January 1, 2000, the company was commissioned to handle all
engine jobs in Hagalund. This was a milestone in the development of
the company. SWEDTRAC became the hub of most of the railway engine
handling in Sweden.
On April 1, 2000, we moved into some 10,000 square metres of fully
equipped engine repair premises in Hagalund. These premises formed
the basis for SJ's maintenance of Rc engines. We estimate that
100,000 production hours is a reasonable workload to be carried out
on these premises, which constitute one of SWEDTRAC's key assets.
On November 1, 2000, we took over the diesel engine repair shed in
Hagalund, in connection with getting the contract from Green Cargo
AB for the maintenance of their Stockholm-based diesel engines. The
National Rail Administration also uses our shops and buys our
services for their diesel-powered rail maintenance vehicles.
In the autumn of 2000 we launched an intensive drive to recruit
engine drivers. We realized that there would soon be a shortage of
travelling personnel. Our drivers have been assigned to SJ,
Citypendeln, Green Cargo, BK Tåg, Roslagståg, Falköping Terminal,
Inlandsgods, and other operators.

2001
In the summer of 2001 we initiated a cooperation program with ALSTOM,
involving long term warranty work on the X3 trains for Arlandabanan.
This program is still in force.
2002
In the spring of 2002, SWEDTRAC was commissioned by CITYPENDELN to
take responsibility for the use of Danish railway cars, pulled by Rc-engines,
in peak traffic. This commission comprised both maintenance, drivers
and train attendants.
In the summer of 2002, we received a large order from BOMBARDIER, to
adjust the bogies of their Regina trains.
2003
In the spring of 2003, we entered into collaboration with
BOMBARDIER, involving modifications and adjustments of the doors of
their underground carriage type 2000.
In the summer of 2003, we took on the task of repainting the Arlanda
X3 trains.
In November 2003, SWEDTRAC got a comprehensive contract with ALSTOM,
to support their establishment in Sweden and Scandinavia, helping
them with workshops, offices and personnel.

2004
In April 2004 we started to cooperate with CITYPENDELN on stabling,
commissioning, maintenance, repairs, overhauls and cleaning,
including graffiti removal, of their commuter train X420.
2005
In the winter of 2005, we have initated a cooperative program with
INTERFLEET concerning trial runs.
In the winter of 2005 we will also collaborate with FAIVELEY Nordic
Transport
(SAB Wabco AB).
From the very beginning, SWEDTRAC consciously and continuously
recruited qualified technical railway personnel. In addition to
working in SWEDTRAC's own production, staff has been assigned
temporarily to other manufacturers and operators within the railway
industry.
Training has been provided and offered to other operators.
SWEDTRAC maintains a high level of expertise in maintenance
estimation, optimization, documentation, safety work, traffic safety
audits, investigations, and vehicle/workshop projects.
SWEDTRAC has been designated infrastructure manager for Hagalund and
Tillberga, and has a permit to operate service trains.

2006
SWEDTRAC delivered its
services according to written agreement to the market.
In December 2006 was a
decision made to change the company name from SWT Swedtrac
Consulting AB to SWT Swedtrac Sverige AB.
At the same time the
company restructured and created subsidiaries with the names SWT
Swedtrac Bemanning AB, SWT Swedtrac Trafik AB, SWT Swedtrac
Produktion AB, SWT Swedtrac Projekt AB and SWT Swedtrac System AB.
The main task for this decision is to obtain focus on the different
business areas within SWT Swedtrac Sverige AB.
2007
SWEDTRAC has continued
its work to supply services to the market at the same time as the
new organisation has started up. Our aim/ambition in quality
certification work and environment certification work has continued.
During summer SWEDTRAC
has supplied the traffic solution to the lab/test train ”Gröna
Tåget” reaching a new Swedish speed record on rail track of 282 km/h
